Top-handle cordless chainsaw with high-cutting performance for professional use

The MSA 220 T is STHL’s most powerful cordless top-handle saw to date. This professional arborist saw is ideal for removing pieces of trunk, crown correction, or removing dead wood.

It has an electronic trigger system with an unlock button for simple saw activation, which leads to easy operation and the LED display on the top handle also shows information on the operating status of the chainsaw, as well as the chain break position.

With an easy-to-clean air filter for long service life and optimum engine cooling, excellent cutting performance, side-mounted chain tensioning, tool-free oil tank cap, captive nut on the sprocket cover.

Working time with recommended AP 300 S battery is up to 29 minutes. Must be used with AP 300 S or AP 500 S battery for full performance.

    Standard features

    • Intuitive controls and a bright LED display

      The MSA 300 features intuitive controls and a bright LED display. Three speed settings limit the chain speed to 20, 24 or 30 m/s, meaning the user can maximise battery life when completing less intensive tasks such as snedding or brashing. Status of the chain brake and temperature warnings are also displayed in red.

    • Side chain tensioner

      The tensioning screw can be found on the side of the chain saw through the sprocket cover. This removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain.

    • Captive nuts

      When changing the cutting attachment, you will not risk losing the nuts on the sprocket.

    • Fleece filter

      The fleece filter in our new MSA 300 guarantees consistent performance – even in extreme conditions. Its extraordinarily finepored filter material keeps even very fine dust and dirt away from the power electronics and electric motor. To clean it, remove the fleece filter and spray it with STIHL Varioclean, briefly leaving it to work before rinsing out with warm water and letting the filter dry. Then it is ready to use again.

    • Fold-out hook

      The fold-out hook serves as a carrying rope attachment for lowering the arborist saw and for security. When it is pushed in, the hook doesn't get in the way of your work or when it's in storage.

    • STIHL Smart Connector

      STIHL connected is a smart fleet management system that enables professional users to digitally manage machine fleets and work assignments.

      This is managed by the STIHL Smart Connector - a sensor with a diameter of just under 5cm, which is mounted on the tool. It can be mounted on petrol, electric or battery-powered tools where it records and saves the operating hours while the motor is running and transmits this information via Bluetooth® 4.2 to the STIHL connected App (the smart connector can be mounted on non-STIHL tools too).     • AP 500 S Battery

      High capacity 36 V, 8.8 Ah Lithium-Ion battery. The AP 500 S is the most powerful AP battery from STIHL. Featuring power laminate technology which means it has double the number of charging cycles of a typical STIHL AP system battery with cylindrical cells. With approximately 253 charging cycles per year (253 working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays in UK) the battery will last close to 10 years without the typical capacity loss of the battery cells.

      The AP 500 S has an integrated Bluetooth® interface for STIHL connected, so just like our AR L backpack batteries, it can be linked to the STIHL connected system 5 and managed like a power tool. This allows you to see the charge status via the STIHL connected App and monitor its daily usage.     • AL 301 Quick charger

      230 V quick charger for STIHL AK System and AP System batteries. This charger has a 6.5 A charging current for fast recharge times and a built-in fan for active battery cooling.

      The AL 301 automatically switches off when the battery is fully charged to prevent overcharging too. Two-stage charging means the battery is first charged at a constant current up to a predetermined voltage limit. Then, the charger switches over to charging at a constant voltage before the current reduces itself automatically until charging is complete. A built in cable tie with Velcro strap on the back means you can wind the cable to the charger to reduce its length. Plus, this charger can be wall mounted for space saving storage.
